IK Multimedia has released the ARC STUDIO+, a hardware processor that carries out room correction on its own, without an audio interface or computer, according to 월간 믹싱. The Korean audio trade publication reported on the launch on October 18, 2026. The unit is aimed at producers and engineers who want calibrated monitoring without tying the process to a DAW session or a host machine.
Why it matters
Room correction has generally lived in software, where the measurement and filtering run on a computer and depend on the plugin chain being active. ARC STUDIO+ moves that work into a dedicated box. 월간 믹싱 reports that the internal DSP handles processing independently of any DAW plugin chain or the computer's CPU, which means the correction stays in place whatever the rest of the setup is doing.
For smaller studios and home setups, that separation can simplify monitoring. The calibration is applied by the hardware rather than by software that has to be loaded and maintained on a machine.
Measurement and correction
The workflow centers on a measurement microphone plugged into a dedicated ARC MIC port on the unit. From there, users can run either a one-point or a three-point correction, 월간 믹싱 reports.
For more thorough analysis, the bundled ARC X software adds multi-position measurement and 3D spatial analysis. That gives users a choice between a quick hardware-only calibration and a more detailed software-assisted pass.
The subwoofer output has its own set of automatic functions. According to 월간 믹싱, the processor handles crossover configuration, level matching and phase alignment for a connected subwoofer without manual adjustment.
Scenes, routing and connectivity
ARC STUDIO+ stores three Scenes, each holding a correction profile along with speaker routing, subwoofer on/off status and input selection. Physical buttons on the unit switch between them, so users can move between saved configurations without opening software.
On the connection side, the processor offers USB-C digital input, optical S/PDIF input and output, and balanced analog input and output. 월간 믹싱 reports a hardware dynamic range of 120dB(A).
Pricing and availability
IK Multimedia has set launch pricing across three configurations. A bundle that includes the ARC microphone is listed at $399.99, discounted from a regular price of $449.99. Customers who already own an ARC microphone can buy the processor for $349.99, down from $399.99. Those who already have an original ARC Studio pay $299.99, reduced from $349.99.
월간 믹싱 notes that further details are available on the IK Multimedia website.
Watch for user reports on how the hardware-only one-point and three-point corrections compare with the multi-position ARC X analysis in real rooms, and whether the three Scene slots prove sufficient for studios that switch between multiple monitor sets.
